Grissom, who missed the first 32 games of the season with a left hamstring strain, injured his right hamstring running out a grounder to third base in the bottom of the second inning of Saturday's 6-3 win over the Tigers. Grissom was placed on the injured list prior to Sunday's game. Manager Alex Cora said Sunday morning that Grissom will undergo an MRI, which will provide a better idea of the severity of the injury. With Gonzalez also dealing with a hamstring strain, the Sox called on two reinforcements in Westbrook and Dalbec.

For Westbrook, this promotion is a thrill in that it's his first trip to the Major Leagues at 28 years old. Westbrook has played 1,159 games in the Minor Leagues dating back to 2013 and could make his first start on Tuesday against the Braves. Dalbec, on the other hand, has already played 316 games for the Red Sox, including 22 this season.

Gonzalez returned from his first IL stint (left wrist sprain) on May 8, and is now down again. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said he doesn't expect Gonzalez to be out "that long." In 35 at-bats this season, Gonzalez is hitting .257 and has six RBIs. (Last updated: June 2)

The reliever continued his Minor League rehab assignment on June 1, going 1 1/3 innings for Triple-A Worcester. Campbell gave up one hit and no runs, striking out three in his fifth appearance. He should be fairly close to being activated. (Last updated: June 2)

Yoshida took live batting practice at Fenway Park on June 1, marking the first time he has done so since he was placed on the injured list a month ago. He had been doing tee work in recent days. Yoshida didn't feel any pain and will now ramp up in hopes of going on a Minor League rehab assignment soon. (Last updated: June 1)

OF Tyler O'Neill (right knee inflammation)

O'Neill received a cortisone shot in his right knee on May 30 and is feeling better. O'Neill hopes to return the first day he is eligible, which is June 5 at Fenway against the Braves. (Last updated: May 31)

Mata, who was in the late stages of his comeback from a right hamstring strain, has now been diagnosed with a right lat strain. The Red Sox have stopped Mata's Minor League rehab assignment, which means he can start with a fresh 30-day clock once he is cleared to pitch in games again.

Mata, Boston's No. 27 prospect, is out of options, meaning he needs to be placed on the Major League roster once he is healthy to avoid being designated for assignment. (Last updated: May 29)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (damaged UCL in right elbow)

Whitlock will not pitch again until some point in 2025 after he had his UCL repaired by Dr. Jeffrey Dugas in Birmingham, Ala., on May 30. On the bright side, the righty avoided Tommy John surgery and instead underwent an internal brace repair, a procedure that has become more frequent for pitchers with UCL injuries. Whitlock had a 1-0 record and 1.96 ERA in four starts for the Red Sox this season. Whitlock was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 2. (Last updated: June 2)

1B (torn cartilage in left rib cage)
Expected return: No earlier than June 21
Casas, who suffered torn cartilage in his left rib cage when he fouled off a 3-1 pitch on April 20, has made significant progress but hadn't been cleared to swing a bat as May came to a close.

"We have to be patient. Everything is trending in the right direction. I really don't know when he's going to start swinging, but just keep doing the things in the gym and taking ground balls," said Red Sox manager Alex Cora. After signing with the Red Sox in February, Hendriks said his goal of coming back from Tommy John surgery would be right around the July 30 Trade Deadline. Hendriks has been playing catch on a daily basis. In Hendriks, who is also signed for next season, Boston will get a reliever who has been dominant in the past. It will be interesting to see how he is utilized in a bullpen that also includes Chris Martin and Kenley Jansen, though both of those pitchers have expiring contracts at the end of the season. Story underwent surgery on April 12. According to a statement from the Red Sox, Story "underwent a successful arthroscopic repair of the posterior labrum, with an open reduction and internal fixation of the fracture of the glenoid rim. The procedure was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache."

Story won't play again until next season. Story dislocated his shoulder diving for a ball on April 5 in Anaheim. He was transferred from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL on April 19. (Last updated: April 19)

Murphy, who came up as a starter before being converted into a multi-inning reliever last season, underwent successful reconstruction of the left ulnar collateral ligament (elbow).
